India’s First BFSI Minor Degree Program Launched

We are excited to share that the BFSI (Fintech) Minor Degree Program, India’s first-of-its-kind initiative designed to bridge the gap between academics and employability in the BFSI sector, has been launched.

The program was inaugurated on September 25, 2024, by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Telangana, Shri A. Revanth Reddy, who ardently endorsed the importance of skill-to-employability initiatives and applauded Telangana for being the first state to adopt this model.

As part of the rollout, the BFSI Consortium worked closely with the Telangana Council of Higher Education (TGCHE):
  • 40 colleges were selected to participate.
  • Official communications were sent to these institutions.
  • Classes for the BFSI curriculum began in January 2025, after semester exams, enabling a smooth onboarding, assessment, and selection process.

This milestone marks a transformative step for higher education in India, setting a precedent for other states to adopt and scale the BFSI Minor Degree Program nationwide.
